Italo Book Club

Creative

Italo Book Club, an exhibition of thirty rare and out-of-print books dedicated to the icons of Italian modernism, including designers, architects, and artists— all who helped to shape the modern world and pave the way for a diverse set of thinking and creating.

Curated by designers Scott Newlin and Emily CM Anderson, Italo Book Club reflects the pair’s passion for Italian modernism. The collection brings together monographs and exhibition catalogs by and about modernist icons such as Aldo Rossi, Gae Aulenti, Gio Ponti, Carlo Scarpa, AG Fronzoni, and many others. Each piece offers a glimpse into the rigor, beauty, and humor that has shaped Italy’s modern design language.

Printed matter plays an essential role in keeping the story of Italian modernism alive, preserving the ideas, processes, and voices that continue to influence design culture today.

More than an archive, Italo Book Club is a tactile celebration of print culture. Visitors are invited to browse, discover, and connect with the legacy of Italian design through books as objects of beauty and inspiration.

The Italian designers featured in Italo Book Club are connected not by a specific aesthetic, but by a shared vision, an expansive approach to modernism that encouraged dialogue, experimentation, and collaboration. Their creative relationships mirror the spirit of the designers at DUDD HAUS.
