RedHook Remodel

RedHook Remodel

Residential Interior

Interior architecture and design of an apartment in the neighborhood, Red Hook, in Brooklyn, New York. The apartment, constructed in the early 1980s, had remained virtually untouched. Notably, the closed-off kitchen featured a coiled-top range and burnt umber wood floors. The primary objective of the design was to enhance the openness of the space, introduce more natural light, and minimize visual clutter.

To achieve this, walls were removed to integrate the kitchen with the living area, creating a seamless flow. Trim was eliminated, and doors were framed to minimize visual obstruction, allowing for an open, airy feel. Additionally, the ceiling was painted with high-gloss white to further enhance the sense of expansiveness. Throughout the space, a curated collection of design objects is prominently displayed.
